HILARIOUS SPECIAL EFFECT MOMENTS
QUOTES
Sinbad: That’a girl
Maeve! Nice shot.
Maeve: Well… I
aim to please.
Villager: Oh, the
roaring giant who descended from the sky—surely you were heaven-sent.
Doubar: Actually
I was just in the neighborhood and thought I’d drop in. Guess those things
aren’t used to heavy lifting.
Sinbad: I should
have destroyed Rumina when I destroyed Turock.
Maeve: It’s not
your fault. She’s slippery. I’ve been tracking her since—well, for a long time.
Sinbad: Then let’s
take the stone and sail to Rumina’s fortress, and put an end to her.
Maeve: It’s not
ours to take. Besides, if the villagers do sacrifice the stone and we fail to
kill Rumina, how will they fend off evil?
Sinbad: Like the
rest of the world does, Maeve. Through sheer determination.
Scratch:
Now please, allow me to clear up any misconceptions you may have about me. I am
not a demon. I am not a devil. I am THE demon. THE devil.
Rumina: I still
don’t see where I fit in.
Scratch: Sinbad…
Rumina: I
hate him.
Scratch: Me too, me too! See?! We do have a lot in
common!
Rumina: You’re
wicked and loathsome. I like that in a devil.
Scratch:
Oh, Rumina. You’re such a vile, lying, scheming wench! Ooh, if I were just a
thousand years younger… {she looks thoughtful} You’d get used to the
hooves.
Maeve: Sinbad… say
something. Say anything…
Sinbad: Well…
it’s not gonna be a walk in the countryside. Rumina wants a fight… let’s give
her one.
Sinbad: Maeve…
don’t hesitate to use any sort of magic you can think of. And… be careful.
Maeve: Aye, aye,
captain. {they almost kiss}
{Skeleton
starts dancing crazily with his sword, while Rongar looks on. Finally, after his
“routine” is done, Rongar
shakes his head and kicks the skeleton’s helmet, knocking
him over.}
Sinbad: I love it
when you do magic!
Maeve: You’re
welcome.
Maeve: Sinbad…
Doubar, is he crazy?
Doubar: Like a
fox.
Sinbad: Rumina
survived, didn’t she? Maeve, I don’t know how you, Dermott, and Rumina are
connected, but I swear to you, I’ll make sure we defeat her. Or die trying.
Maeve: I know
you will, Sinbad. I know.

POINTS TO PONDER
I don’t
really consider the second season a continuation. Mainly, because so many things
from the first season are disregarded and not properly tied up—and we lose some
of the characters we’ve grown to love and hate. Losing Maeve was bad enough, but
no resolution with Rumina? Turock’s revival, completely ignored? It’s like an
independent series that borrows the name, but no longer has the heart and soul
of the original series. And Bryn?! Don’t even get me started. They should have
just cast her in Maeve’s role, and been done with it. If the character had
continued, I could have eventually dealt with the change in actresses, though it
may have taken me awhile to get used to.
I suppose
I’ll have to content myself with the knowledge that at least one
magnificent season of this show was created—it’s definitely better than none.
And I am
really, truly grateful for fanfiction.
