THE SIREN'S SONG
Writer: Craig Volk
SUMMARY
Three
cursed sailors come aboard the Nomad. Sinbad and his crew are held hostage by a
madman seeking Poseidon's trident.
HILARIOUS SPECIAL EFFECT MOMENTS
QUOTES
Firouz: Rats are
known for their bountiful breeding practices.
Maeve: I sense a
presence here that means something quite different.
Sinbad: What do
you sense?
Maeve: Something
has changed here. I feel it. Something is with us now. Something that means us
no good will.
Doubar: You give
me the willies when you talk like that.
Maeve: Dermott
senses it too.
Doubar: If I spent
a week in an open boat… I’d be sleeping like a rock.
Firouz:
Actually, rocks have no consciousness, and therefore, no experience of sleep.
Sinbad: It’s a fair
night on the calm sea.
Maroof: The fair
only hides the foul
Firouz: He
drowned.
Sinbad:
Impossible. I just talked to him not more than a minute ago. Firouz…?
Firouz: He
drowned. And from the looks of him… it appears he’s been dead at least a week.
Fontassel: Don’t blame me for your accursed life.
Tallow: That I
don’t. You and I just brought out the worse in each other. Temptation itched.
And we both wanted to scratch.
Fontassel:
I am still your captain!
Tallow: Then
call this a mutiny of one.
Sinbad: This is
your curse, not ours.
Fontassel: I’m more than willing to share.
Sinbad: No, no! Not
just yet.
Doubar: Sinbad,
may I remind you that a loony has just taken control of our ship.
Sinbad: A loony
who also has a blade at Maeve’s throat.
Doubar: Damnation!
Sinbad: Yes,
we’re not having much luck with doors today, are we?
Firouz: I
hesitate to consider what Fontassel’s intentions might involve.
Doubar: Well, at
this point, he certainly seems to hold all the cards…
Sinbad: …While
still overplaying his hand, but one good trump card… and he’s going to be a
loser.
Doubar: Let’s
just hope we get dealt that card.
Sinbad: Sorcery!
Maeve: No.
Punishment. For transgressing the gods, and abandoning their crew. He and his
top mates became the unholy.
Doubar:
They exchanged their souls for gold. Always a bad exchange rate.

POINTS TO PONDER
Why
couldn’t the siren take care of the captain? She took care of all the others
easily enough, even during the day when it wasn’t supposedly impossible. So was
having Poseidon appear at the end to finish him off really necessary? All it did
was give us some more awful CGI to look at. (Not that I’m really complaining—I
love me some bad CGI)
But why
is everyone looking at Maeve during that scene? Did they think she summoned
Poseidon or something? She couldn't even take the captain's sword away from him,
lol.
