HILARIOUS SPECIAL EFFECT MOMENTS

QUOTES
Firouz: Careful,
Doubar, that’s important stuff! It’s all breakable—I assure(?) you!
Doubar: I don’t
suppose you’ve invented anything that’ll help us carry all this stuff?
Firouz: Good
idea. I must address that subject on our next voyage.
Sinbad: Maeve…
Maeve: Huh?
Sinbad: Please
be careful on your search.
Maeve: {laughing}
Sinbad, it’s you who should be careful. Politics is more unpredictable than
magic.
Sinbad: Hello,
Rumina. Those dancing lessons have sure paid off.
Rumina: How did
you know it was me?
Sinbad: Well…
when you make eye contact, you really make eye contact. And your choice
of jewelry sets you apart from the rest of the chorus line.
Rumina: You may
pretend to hate me, Sinbad… but I know you really want me. Admit it… you did
want to kiss me just now.
Sinbad: As much
as I’d want to cuddle a snake.
Rumina: That
can be arranged, boy, you conceited sea-dog!
Sinbad: Temper,
temper, temper.
Sinbad/Rumina: Are
you afraid I might tarnish your good name? {chuckling evilly} what a wonderful
idea. I think I’ll have a little fun at your expense before I enter the shrine.
When I return, maybe you’ll see that being nice to Rumina could save your life.
See you around short stuff.
Firouz:
What—what Sinbad means your Excellency, is that you have a natural talent for
bartering.
Sinbad/Rumina:
{pulling Firouz back} Not exactly. Actually, sire, it’s just that…
strolling through your city… I long for the sight of a real town.
King:
Do you insult my kingdom, Sailor?
Sinbad/Rumina:
Seems you’ve beaten me to it.
Sinbad/Rumina:
{standing back and watching as ‘his’ crew engages in battle} That a’boy,
Doubar! A little more wrist action, Firouz! Ooh, baldy! Fight like you mean
it—with feeling!
Sinbad/Rumina:
Face it, big guy… without me, you’d all be stuck. I’m the one who does all the
thinking in this outfit.
Doubar: I don’t
know what’s happened to your brain—but if I have to, I’m going to knock some
sense into it!
Sinbad/Rumina:
See what I mean? All muscle, no mind.
Doubar: Where’d
you get that?
Sinbad/Rumina:
Does my taste in jewelry upset you?
Firouz: Here
they come!
Sinbad/Rumina:
Oh, run! This way! Outta my way! {starts running like a girl}
Firouz:
Sinbad’s running strangely.
Doubar: Perhaps
what’s inflaming his mind is giving him a rash as well.
Sinbad: {talking
to Rumina’s cat} Get out of here, fur-face! Before I whistle for a dog!
Sinbad/Rumina:
I know you want me! I’ve known it from the very beginning. You and me… on the
open seas… making magic together.
Maeve: Are you
completely crazy?
Maeve: I don’t know
why I’m helping you!
Sinbad: You
haven’t even helped me yet!
Maeve: Heh,
fine. Stay a bug the rest of your life.
Sorceress:
Alright, you two, that’s enough. Stop acting like an old married couple.
Sinbad: Married
to her? {laughing}
Maeve: Oh, and
you’re such a big catch.
Doubar: Two
heads bounce better than one!
Doubar/Firouz:
Science!
Maeve: You act as
though you enjoyed that.
Sinbad: …You’re
welcome.
Maeve: You
enjoyed kissing Rumina, didn’t you?
Sinbad: Of
course not. It was all in the line of duty.
Maeve: Oh, come
on. Why don’t you just admit it.
Sinbad: I Did
not.
Maeve: Did too.
Sinbad: Did
not.
Maeve: Did too.
Sinbad: Did
not.
Maeve: Did too.
Sinbad: Did
not.
Maeve: Did too.
Sinbad: Did
not.
Maeve:
Did too.
Sinbad: Did
not.
Maeve: Did too.
EPISODE IMAGE RECAP

POINTS TO PONDER
Rumina
disguised as Sinbad, trying to seduce Maeve. As much as I appreciate and LOVE
the scene—you gotta admit, it doesn’t make much sense. I could understand it if
Rumina was simply testing them, to see how close they really were—but to
go so far as to actually kiss Maeve—I’m fairly certain she doesn’t swing
that way—unless the whole point of that scene is to show that she does,
lol. Either way, I still love that entire scene, especially the dialog (even if
it was only included to satisfy Sinbad/Maeve fanatics). Unfortunately, when you
get down to it, it just doesn’t make much sense plot and character-wise. Not
that this series has ever concerned itself about such things—and really,
that’s one of the reasons we love it! It’s the show that refuses to take itself
seriously! ^_^
And in
case you’re curious, this was actually the very first episode I ever saw, and
the one that got me into the series in the first place! Just seeing Sinbad
running and acting like a girl, was enough to make me tune in for the next
episode.
