Firouz builds a new invention called the Ruby Beamer. When the crew goes ashore to apologize for damage it caused, Firouz is acclaimed as the people's savior.

Maeve: Dermott senses someone coming!
Doubar: Eeh, I sense they’re already here.
 

Doubar: We can’t kill what we can’t cut!
Sinbad: It must have a weak spot. (and yet, he continues to hit it over and over again in the exact same spot!)
 

Princess: How did you manage to drive them off, Firouz?
Firouz: Higher reasoning. I reasoned that a dark cloud might blind them—blind, and they might retreat.
Princess: If only countries were ruled by such genius. (yes, because only scientists are capable of devising such a complex and clever strategy. An alternate line for Firouz could have gone: “I thought if I threw dirt in their eyes, they might cry and run away.”)

Sinbad: Guards! Guards, my friend. Ohh, he’s choking to death. You must help us! Guards!
 

Sinbad: What is that?
Doubar: Some place I don’t want to end up. Can you do anything about these chains, Maeve?
{Maeve sighs}
Maeve: Guardian of iron… reduce the power of these chains…{the chains get pulled tighter into the wall; propelling them backwards}
Sinbad: Well, I’m impressed.
Maeve: It must be… you know… the sleep gas... that they used on me… my head aches… {mumbling}… I can’t concentrate. Really…

POINTS TO PONDER

I always think this is one of those episodes I don’t like… until I watch it, and end up laughing my head off. In most series, the episodes that focus on a particular ‘side-character’ end up being the most forgettable for me, so when I realize this is one of “those” episodes, I always think it’ll be mediocre and forgettable. But then, while watching, I’ll remember what an awesome and funny character Firouz is (or any of the side-characters, really). Even if the ending is predictable within the first five minutes… Firouz is so cool, and the dialogue so hilariously bad, that somehow, they still manage to pull it off. ^_^
